Zambia Red Cross Society commemorates World Red Cross Day.
May 8th, every year, is a day when Volunteers World wide in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement celebrate the birth of its founder Henry Dunant.
Being the largest Humanitarian Movement, in the world, Volunteers who are the heart ❤️ of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies, today in Mansa District, ZRCS Mansa Branch, had the honour of having Mansa District Commissioner Ms. Ireen Chivweta grace the occasion, with ZRCS Information Board Chairperson Mr Eusebious Musonda, ZRCS Provincial President, Mr. Ndalama ZRCS Volunteers & other invited guests grace the occasion. Volunteers gave the District Commissioner a March past to the delight of all the guests.

The District Commissioner donated various items consisting of clothes & shoes, to 85 vulnerable community members identified by Social Welfare Department, under Ministry of Community Development.
Some items were also given to inmates at Mansa correctional facility, benefitting both male and female inmates

The items of clothing were donated by both LC WAIKIKI chain of stores in Zambia and individuals.
Apart from commemorating World Red Cross & Red Crescent Day, the District Commissioner, commissioned the new ZRCS Mansa Branch Office Block.
