ZAMBIA RED CROSS SOCIETY TRAINS SWEDISH EMBASSY STAFF IN LIFESAVING FIRST AID SKILLS

Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS), in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, Zambia, recently conducted a comprehensive First Aid training for embassy staff, strengthening workplace emergency preparedness and reinforcing the importance of lifesaving skills within diplomatic missions.

The training, held on 4 February 2026, was facilitated by certified ZRCS instructors and equipped participants with practical skills in wound care, splinting, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and basic life support through hands-on demonstrations and simulations. Staff gained the confidence and knowledge needed to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies.

His Excellency Mr Johan Hallenborg, Ambassador of Sweden to Zambia, welcomed the initiative and highlighted the value of First Aid training in promoting safety and readiness within the workplace. The Embassy’s participation reflects its continued commitment to staff wellbeing and collaboration with humanitarian partners.

ZRCS continues to work with institutions, organizations, and communities across the country to deliver professional First Aid training, empowering more people with the skills to save lives when it matters most.
