ZRCS BOOSTS CHILD HEALTH WEEK IN SINAZONGWE WITH TRANSPORT AND VOLUNTEERS
In support of Child Health Week, Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) has partnered with the Ministry of Health at Sinazongwe District Health Offices to facilitate the delivery of fuel and vaccines to selected health posts and centers.
ZRCS has also deployed 111 volunteers that have been trained under the Drought Response, to support with the mobilization of communities targeted for this campaign and delivering essential immunizations and health services to children across the district.
Our volunteers are conducting Middle Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) screenings to identify malnutrition in children under five and referring them to local facilities for treatment. They are also engaging in Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) and raising awareness through community activities. Additionally, they are supporting follow-ups with children as part of the Reach Every Child (REC) strategy.
Aligned with the Zambia Red Cross Society’s Strategic Plan, ZRCS continues to drive life-saving health initiatives that contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities.
