ZAMBIA RED CROSS SOCIETY STRENGTHENS TIES WITH WATERAID ZAMBIA FOR FUTURE COLLABORATIONS.
In a bid to foster stronger relations and collaborate on community development efforts, the Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) welcomed a courtesy call from WaterAid Zambia’s Country Director, Yankho Mataya on 11th September, 2024. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for partnership and growth between the two organizations, with an emphasis on complementing each other’s efforts.
ZRCS Secretary General Cosmas Sakala, and Director of Programs Jack Bbabbi highlighted the importance of leveraging existing strengths and resources, stating that “we do not need to reinvent the wheel but complement each other and collaborate for the good of the communities we are serving.” This approach aims to avoid duplication of efforts while maximizing the impact of each organization’s initiatives.
During the discussions, both parties expressed a shared commitment to advancing key areas of collaboration, including resource sharing, capacity building, and joint targeting of community needs. As part of this strategic alignment, the process of formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be initiated.
The proposed MoU will lay the foundation for future joint initiatives that are expected to enhance the delivery of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services across Zambia, as well as strengthen disaster response and community resilience efforts.
This partnership is in line with our strategic plan, goal number one to foster and strengthen strategic partnerships in an effort to accelerate impact to improve aid and disaster relief effectiveness.
